I want to highly recommend Joe Carroll and the Advantage Administration team for their excellent work and support for Cardiology Associates of Somerset County.

About a year ago, our company hired Mr. Carroll, because we had problems with low income. Initially we were uncertain of the reason, although our suspicions were lack of physician productivity and poor billing and collections. Mr. Carroll and his team revamped our billings and collections department. In addition, he helped improve physician cooperation, unity, and performance. Physicians developed a common vision. They learned to work harder and more efficiently to generate more income so the practice could remain healthy.

In terms of the clinical area, we are a work in progress. We hired a new clinical manager, retrained our staff, and implemented a pay for performance philosophy. Our goals: set higher standards of performance, compensate the good workers, and remove the workers who cannot achieve our expectations. The process is arduous, but Joe has been instrumental in helping us through the process. Mr. Carroll and his staff also bring a wealth of business skills to our practice. Thanks to his help, we track each doctor’s productivity, practice, expenses, collections, accounts receivable, overhead, etc. He sets goals for our growth and benchmarks us against other known successful practices. Recently, he created a spreadsheet so that in a matter of five minutes we know financially how well the practice is doing.

Joe Carroll is a leader and works well with staff and physicians. He has an easygoing personality, but can be tough. He is an honest man who is hardworking, humble, and of good moral character. I believe he cares about our company and wants us to be successful. It gives him pleasure to see a company that is sick get well.

The bottom line, in spite of paying his salary and his staff, we made more money this year than last. We have paid all of our expenses, do not owe anyone money, and have dispersed physician bonuses and pension and profit planning monies on time. I look forward to continued growth next year.

Sincerely,

Mark Lebenthal, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.C.
