Joseph F. Carroll III President and CEO

Mr. Carroll is the CEO of Advantage, a position he has held since founding the company in 1991. Mr. Carroll has over 30 years of experience in health care administration and has provided consultation to many of the industry's largest companies and providers.

Mr. Carroll's career as a consultant was founded on his experience both as a clinician and healthcare executive. Mr. Carroll worked as a respiratory therapist at Duke University Medical Center and as Director of Respiratory Therapy at Chesapeake General Hospital in Chesapeake, Virginia. At Chesapeake General, Mr. Carroll was also Director of Special Clinical Services, which included the overall responsibility for the departments of Respiratory Therapy, Cardiology, EEG, Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation and the Peripheral Vascular Laboratory. Later, Mr. Carroll served as the Executive Director for a retail medical equipment provider and as CEO of multiple private physician practices.

Mr. Carroll received his clinical training at Duke University Medical Center, graduating from Durham Technical College with his Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy. Mr. Carroll completed his Bachelors Degree from Elon University, and he achieved his Master of Arts Degree in Education and Human Development with a concentration in Human Resource Development in 1984 from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
